Current Support Needs
The FLVG is always looking to grow our helping hands in the group to support our community. Please contact your service representative or anyone in leadership to see how you can assist the group outside of the listed positions and program initiatives:
Reach out to any Fawn Lake Resident: The FLVG is looking for an attorney/advisor familiar with non-profit 501.C organizations. This would be a one time ask for a few hours to construct and review a MOU. If interested in lending a hand, please directly contact Kevin Reilly. (Kevin.Reilly@Fawnlakevets.org)
Guest Speaker Coordinator: Seeking a hard charger to work closely with leadership to identify and execute at least three (3) quality guest speakers like the Tuskegee Airman and Girl State presentations.
Finance Officer: Seeking a deputy to assist Bob Gauvin in this critical position and provide quality support in his absence.
Sound Support Coordinator: Seeking a deputy to assist John Quaderer in this critical position and provide quality sound support in his absence.
Rappahannock Veterans Treatment Docket Mentors: Mentors are veteran volunteers who provide support, guidance, and advocacy for justice-involved veterans with substance use/mental health issues. You help them navigate the court, VA system, and reintegrate into civilian life as a vital alternative to traditional incarceration, acting as coaches, role models, and "battle buddies".
Service Representatives: Seeking assistant service and our first Space Force representative. This provides depth and continuity for the group. Please see one of the current six (6) representatives for more information.
FLVG Photographer: Seeking a hobbyist or semi-pro interested in capturing images of our monthly Vespers and all events. This individual will work with leadership to post photographs on our site. We would welcome several individuals who would work together to support our social media functions, sharing the opportunity amongst each other.
Honor Flag Program: Seeking 2-3 volunteers to execute this major initiative. Upon a family request, the FLVG would fly the flag used to drape the casket at the veteran's funeral on the community flag pole for a specified period of time to honor the veteran.
Rounds of Golf Challenge: Seeking proactive individuals to assist BSMVDGT Director, Lou DeTroia, to garnering rounds of golf for four (4) at some of the higher quality golf courses within our region. Primarily working with Lou and the pro shop this effort supports our yearly keystone event.
Flag & Stand Replacement: Seeking expertise with new outdoor quality flags, poles, and heavy-duty stand acquisition for the FLVG.
